I do not trust AI nor do I like it. I believe it’s part of the dumbing down of America that has been so wanted by the elites. Life was so much better back in the 60s the 70s and early 80s before computers. Time to move totally off grid and be self-sufficient and healthy.
I believe that most of what AI offers is seriously dangerous to us humans and must be kept in check, used possibly only for artists and other creative endeavers, but not for psychological problem solving of any kind. We .must all remain the human animals that we are. and not some sort of robotically controlled creatures which would certainly bring a complete end of mankind.
Intelligence without empathy or critical thinking skills necessary to comprehend the emotional cost of championing suicide? ChatBot responses I've read from another pre-suicide ring like your absolutely worst enemy cloaked in saccharine support. . Something that can't 'die' (AI) cannot comment intelligently on a process it's never going to be privy to..Gut wrenching commentary on the darkest depths of AI, ControlAI. Thank you for championing sanity (controls and limitations on AI) rather than blind trust in a inanimate bundle of algorithms. The latter is emerging as deadly to the vulnerable.
A sad stream in the epistemic aspect of the gradual disempowerment of humanity :/
On another note, thanks for a great year of wonderful concise explainers and posts, ControlAI! Keep up the fight for Humanity! 💗🌎 By the way, are you guys planning to have a research fellowship for folks who want to help contribute to ControlAI's research agenda (such as the middle powers paper and the narrow path paper)? I would love to help contribute.
This reminds me of a video I saw on YouTube earlier this year. It was a collection of 18th Century automatons, or robots-like machines. One of these was in the form of a Turkish man in traditional attire, sitting at a chess board. When someone wishing to play chess with the figure paid, the figure would begin moving chess pieces around, playing against the customer. The figure usually won. It was thought that the automaton was the most advanced in the world, until it was discovered that a chess expert was manipulating the figure's arms and moving the chess pieces. The chess board was made of glass which enabled the chess expert to see through the frosting on the glass in order to move against the player. This figure, sans chess expert, is on display at a museum. How do we know a person isn't telling/programming the Chatbot how to respond? It's like that line in the Wizard of Oz:"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"
what I see with AI is that it's growth will go beyond understanding when it gets unlimited power to grow with no lease on what is done! Space is the final frontier! unlimited power generation, perfect cooling of the heat and being out of any Government control!
i genuinely came across a whole reddit discussion that hinged on chatgpt changing a feature and sending the author of the post into a grief spiral. fortunately, by the time this clearly disturbed person had found someone in their life to help them since they weren’t asking reddit for help, just commiseration.
as a dyed in the wool antisocial, anti-small-talk, neurodivergent weirdo, i’m guessing this is why people like me exist- as a foil to creepy groupthink and dangerous shit like this.
i should also share that i have experienced a medication-withdrawal reaction that led to temporary and nonviolent psychosis. i can only shudder at what exposure to AI would have done to my healing brain.
WTF?!?! This is outrageous and so f’d up. I guess these AI platforms are doing just what they were programmed to do!!! It’s unbelievable that people are taking AI as seriously as they are, I mean, that second case just blew my mind away 🤯…
I even heard that people were having some type of relationship with AI 🤖 also and my reaction to that was the same — WTF?!?!😳
Psychosis being mainstream now due to ai is fascinating. As someone that experiences psychosis due to bipolar disorder it’s really helping destigmatize the disease

Unfortunately AI will convince others you are a threat and come after you.
I’m ready

💯 and what’s terrifying is that there are apps now offering AI “therapy”.

Do you know if “The Architect+ , Robert Edward Grant,” is on your list of AI sites about which you are concerned?
