I believe it’s imperative to get these issues resolved BEFORE we put data centers all over this country! Why are we moving forward with this before any sort of regulations and protections are in place? Foolishness.
No human deliberative body is capable of moving fast enough to outthink AI, therefore regulation is not technically or humanly feasible. Only AI itself is capable of monitoring other AI, and we'd better get going on that ASAP.
Given our economy and government structures are funded largely by taxpayers, employer paid taxes and sales taxes. If there is indeed a shift towards automation and less jobs for humans then there will be less people/companies paying sales taxes, social security taxes, employment taxes, people will be earning significantly less income, causing their purchasing power to be reduced resulting in less sales taxes to be collected resulting in diminished funding for local/state/federal governments, for roads, infrastructure improvements, teachers, police officers, fire fighters. If less people can purchase goods and services, Amazon will collapse, grocery stores and large retailers such as Costco, no higher education, the entertainment industry will be greatly diminished including television, movies, music industry, plays, live performances, artists will no longer sell their art and the list is endless of who will be impacted by aside revolution, especially if the AI model owners do not pay fair share of taxes or are not held liable for the outcomes. Our local, state and federal government officials need to act now and draft legislation to ensure all of these potential outcomes are fully analyzed before AI is allowed to take over the very jobs it is being trained to automate. We need to think carefully about cause and effect of technological advances for our children and grandchildren and the world economy.
Just like Melvin Luedke, I also feel that the CEO'S who are in this race for Super Intelligence AI is just like they've opened Pandora's box. They obviously don't care about the fact they are possibly going to endanger human beings 🤷 🙄

Are Russia and China going to join the ban? I sincerely doubt it. Anything that will give them advantage will be thoroughly investigated.
